Tsering Wangmo is Artistic Director of Chaksampa. She was trained in classical Tibetan dance and opera at the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts, in India. She has been a leading performer that sings, dances, and teaches traditional Tibetan dance and opera.
Edward Ellsworth is a video producer whose nonprofit organization Aloha Broadcasting works records performing arts and music in Hawaii. He has filmed and live streamed Chaksampa dance and opera over the years, and maintains the chaksampa.org website. He has filmed Tibetan dance and opera in India and the US over the last 25 years.
Benina Gould graduated from Cornell University and received her Ph.D. in clinical Psychology from the Fielding Institute, where she was awarded the Annual Social Justice Award. She spent two years as a Carnegie Avoiding Nuclear War Fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and has received grants from the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, UC Berkeley and the Fetzer Foundation. At the present time she practices clinical psychology in Berkeley, California and teaches “Refugee, Trauma and Resiliency” as part of the Transformative Social Change Department at Saybrook University.
Cynthia Josayma is a Tibetan Opera Researcher and Specialist who translated Drowa Sangmo and Gyasa Besa into English, each opera is over 500 years old, and each opera is performed over the course of one full day. Both operas were published by the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, in Dharamsala, India. Wrote and published numerous articles on Tibetan Opera, detailing the historical emergence of the performance art, interviews with master artists, and translations of key sections of the performances.
Sarita Patel is a life long learner and advocate for human Sovereign status. Thirty-plus years in Film, Retail, Education and Arts. Single mother of a now 20 year old studying farming and philosophy.
Kunjo Tashi served in various organizations including the Foundation for Universal Responsibility of HH the Dalai Lama based in New Delhi and spearheaded several of the Foundation’s flagship projects. Kunjo is a former president of Tibetan Association of Northern California and continues to serve on its advisory board. He also served as a project consultant with the Dalai Lama Foundation based in the USA. He is currently the Director of the Himalayan Fair LLC and is based in Oakland, California.
