Thoeshey and Nangma is a form of light classical music from Lhasa. The style is said to be influenced by Muslim music from the region of Kashmir. In fact, some of the most popular Nangma musicians in Lhasa are Muslim. The form gradually became very popular in the homes of noblemen and the taverns or chang houses.
